Alpaca Fest OABA 2009, Columbus, Ohio - Sweet Heart Surpessa (aka Surprise) took a JUDGES CHOICE ribbon and Sweet Heart Victoria took a First place ribbon (both were spin-off ribbons). We are soooo excited.

National Alpaca Farm Days September 26-27.  12pm-4pm

Our three Crias have arrived and oh what a interesting event that was.  Guredeja gave birth to a true black male weighting in at 17 lbs.  He is really nice and we named him Eddie.  Rose gave birth to a beautiful female weighting in at 16.5 lbs.  She is black, white with brown under belly and legs.  We named her Elvira.  And last but not least we have Libbie who gave us a male.  This was our first and I pray last torsion/breech birth.  With the help of the vet we were able to save his life.  So that is how he got his name SHSA Trooper.  He weighted in at 22 lbs. and is a medium brown.

We have sent Spin off samples to the following shows and are looking forward to the results:

Suri Networks, Summer Symposium, we sent spin-off fleece for Victoria, Mercedes, Elvis, Kweenie and Surprise.  August 2009 What a Great Time I had, Estes Park is beautiful and full of wildlife.  I learned how to felt a longer locked suri fleece.  Kweenie took a 2nd place, Victoria and Surprise both took 3rd places, I am sooooo proud of them.

MOPACA (Kansas City, MO) March 28 - 29.  We sent samples of Shimmer Down's, Rose and Victoria's. Results:  Shimmer Down received a 1st place, Rose placed 2nd and Victoria placed 2nd. Not bad....Not bad at all.   I love this life.

MAPACA (Harrisburg, PA) April 24 - 26.  We are sending samples of Victoria, Mercedes and Shimmer Down's.  Mercedes placed 1st, Victoria placed 4th and Shimmer placed 3rd.

AOBA National Conference (IX Center Cleveland, Ohio) June 3 - 7.  We are sending one fleece. Several of my own photos will entered into the competition, along with several of my own made items (for the fiber arts).  To top it all off several of our alpacas will be in the halter competitions.  I am also hoping to enter a full fleece of our Victoria's.  My crocheted sweater received a first place, scoring 97 points out of 100.  Mercedes showed in the compostite class and received a first place, Surpessa (aka Surprise) also showed in the conposite class and received a second place, our little guy Merlin got a sixth place in the full fleece halter class (not bad for a little guy in a large class of great looking males).  We did not send Victoria's fleece (it was too dirty to show) but we entered Elvis fleece and got a fifth place.  Our little girl Kweenie did not make it to the show ring.  The floor was very slippery and she was very stressed so we pulled her from the show and left her in the stall.  My photos did not place.
